What I mean by this is that you must make yourself identifiable or codable, not only by genre but also by values, aesthetics, race, gender, sexuality, politics, etc. It’s about placing you and your art somewhere or finding the place where you belong. This is language I personally feel very uncomfortable with… for what I suspect are normal reasons.”
